When you’re a little kid, you’re a little bit of everything: artist, scientist, athlete, scholar— a tiny renaissance person, if you will. But, it seems like growing up is a process of giving up those things 1 by 1. & It's never really because of a loss of interest or inaptitude in skill; it usually revolves around money.

Matters of the Heart Art Center is here to put an end to that way of antiquated thinking. We will provide the resources and the space AND make sure the kids make bread off their work.

M.o.t.H is a space that hosts open studio sessions like sewing [artists], MX chemical garment dyeing [scientist], dance & Muay Thai [athlete], or seminars/workshops on brand building and business[scholar]. Kids also have the freedom to sell their creations at no costs to them in our retail store.

Matters of the Heart art center will never take donations from the government or large companies that are disconnected & out of touch with us on the ground. I’ll be damned if the art center’s ability to stay running relied on meeting their out-of-touch metrics of “success.” Fall back. I’m too awkward, I box lefty, I can’t tap dance.

M.o.t.H is funded solely by the support of....... you. Every dollar of every item sold under the moniker “Matters of the Heart” gets sent back up to fund programs, equipment, faculty, rent, art supplies, etc. for the yuuuth & If M.O.T.H can’t cover it, H.C does. So, thank you for continuing the renaissance <3
